Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Much to the joy of aspiring candidates wishing to join the Indian Railways, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a recruitment notification to fill up more than 23000 posts for the largest network in the country. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the posts on or before December 01, 2017.
The recruitment process is on for Loco Pilot and Technician Grade III posts.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who wish to work as an Assistant Loco Pilot in Indian Railway must fulfil the following eligibility criteria to apply for the vacant posts.

Educational Qualification:
Applicant must have passed Matriculation or equivalent examination under 10+2 system from any government recognised Board or Institution and ITI from recognised SCVT/NCVT in the trade of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic/ Millwright Maintenance Mechanic/ Mechanic Radio & TV/ Electronics Mechanic/ Mechanic Motor vehicle/ Wireman/ Tractor Mechanic / Armature & Coil Winder/ Mechanic Diesel / Heat Engine/ Turner/ Machinist/ Refrigeration & AC mechanic. Candidates having Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engg approved by AICTE will also be eligible to apply for the post.
Age Limit:
For the Assistant Loco Pilot post, applicants’ age should be between 18 and 25 years, while for Technician post the minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years as on the last date of online application. However, there is 3 years and 5 years age relaxation for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively.
For Ex-serviceman, age is relaxable up to the extent of service rendered in Defence, plus 3 years, provides they have put in more than six months services after affectation.
For candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989, there is 5 years relaxation.
Moreover, there is 10 years relaxation for persons with Disabilities (PWD) UR, (13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST).

Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected as per the merit, on the basis of online written examination. The standard of questions for the online written examination will be generally in conformity with educational standard and/or minimum technical qualification prescribed for the posts. The questions will be objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Studies and Technical Ability. The question paper will be in English, Hindi and Urdu and local language.
