One Militant killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara

Srinagar: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday killing a militant in Kralgund area, defence sources said.

There was a brief exchange of fire between the two sides and later the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area late in Wednesday night following information about the presence of militants in there, a police official said.

"A pistol and some grenades were also recovered during the search," sources added.
