Nation Pays Tribute To Lal Bahadur Shastri On His 115th Birth Anniversary

New Delhi: As India celebrated Lal Bahadur Shahstri’s 115th Birth Anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday recalled the grit and determination of the former Prime Minister of India.

“India will never forget the valuable contribution of Shastri Ji. He was a stalwart who never deviated from his ideals and principles, come what may,” Modi tweeted.

He also posted a short video on the leader in which he referred to Shastri’s grit and determination and his love for khadi.

President, Ram Nath Kovind visited Vijay Ghat today and paid his obeisance to the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri as well.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir were among many who tweeted remembering Shastri today.

Shastri was born in 1904 in Uttar Pradesh’s Mughalsarai.
