Ahead of the launch of the country's first non-Indian Railways run train by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)- the Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express tomorrow, the Corporation has stated that it will compensate passengers of the Tejas Express in case of delay in the train schedule. Not only this, passengers travelling in the Express will get a free travel insurance of Rs 25 lakh.

Equipped with all modern onboard facilities for ensuring a high level of comfort to the passengers, Tejas Express will start operations on October 4. As per the schedule, it will be flagged-off from Lucknow by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

On the other hand, IRCTC has assured that it will compensate passengers in case of train delays.

  • Rs 100 in case of a delay of more than an hour
  • Rs 250 in cases of a delay exceeding two hours

This apart, IRCTC has planned to offer exclusive luggage pick-up and drop facilities to Tejas passengers.

There will be no Tatkal or Premium Tatkal quota on this particular train and bookings will be allowed 60 days before the date of journey. Meals will also be served by on-board service staff.
