New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Indian Railways is providing monetary award to citizens… Yes, you have heard right. Here’s a chance to win; your ideas can make you win Rs 10 lakh from the Railways.

Indian Railways, which ferries over 22 million passengers every day, is facing issues in revenue growth over the past four years and to fix this, it has come up with an idea to offer up to Rs10 lakh as prize money for the best solution to the problem. Isn’t it interesting?

In 2016-17, the gross revenue for the railways was Rs1.65 lakh crore, of which working expenses gobbled up Rs1.59 lakh crore. Not relying only on in-house experts, the Railways has invited everyone to pitch in with ideas to boost revenue, Conde Nast Traveller reported.

The Railways called the competition as ‘How to Raise Money for Railways to Provide Better Services (Jan Bhagidari)’.

Through this competition, the Railways will accept your ideas, suggestions, business plans and strategy for revenue growth.

The best entry will win a prize of Rs10 lakh. Similarly, the second winners will get Rs5 lakh. The ideas that will come on third and fourth positions also have a prize money of Rs3 lakh and Rs1 lakh respectively.
