Bhubaneswar: Passengers no longer will have to face problems in arranging proper transport to carry their luggage as end to end luggage/ parcel service has now been introduced for their convenience.

As per reports, the service has been launched by a start-up ‘BookBaggage’ in collaboration with the Indian Railways.

The service has been launched for the passengers of Western Railway at Ahmedabad Railway Station. It is the first NINFRIS contract of its kind to be implemented over Indian Railways. The facility was inaugurated yesterday.

It is mainly an app-based end-to-end parcel services for customers who want to send parcels by train.

BookBaggage.com is a specialized service of baggage delivery system which is unique and being introduced in India for the first time.

“We know the pain points of handling baggage during travel of any kind and came up with a unique solution to help you travel hands free. We felt that passengers traveling by rail or air are inconvenienced by having to lug baggage in this day and age,” the company said.

Sources said that the pickup luggage service will cost consumers Rs 125 for the first bag (weighing up to 25kg) depending on the distance from the station, and Rs 50 for subsequent luggage and a nominal charge for transporting the luggage to the destination city by Indian Railways.
