Bhubaneswar: Much to the joy of students wishing to join the postal services, India Post has released an employment notification to recruit 1930 Gramin Dak Sevaks in various Postal circles across the country. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online soon for the Post Office Vacancy 2017 on the official website indiapost.gov.in or appost.in/gdonline.

Eligibility criteria, educational qualification, age and other details of each of the circles are given below.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have passed 10th class examination or equivalent from a recognized board and must possess basic computer knowledge with training certificate of minimum 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE: The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose.

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 40 years as on 1st December 2017.

However there is age relaxation for reserved candidates. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates is 5 years, for OBC candidates the age is relaxable by 3 years, while for physically handicapped candidates the age relaxation is 10 years.

Application Fees:

For General and OBC candidates, the application fee for the recruitment is Rs100 whereas SC/ST/ PH/Female candidates have been exempted from payment of fees

Note: The candidates can submit the application fee at any identified post office in the circle.

Odisha - 93 (UR-48,OBC-10,SC-13,ST-18, PH-04)

Jharkhand - 1236 (UR-592,OBC-145,SC-161,ST-290, PH-48)

Andhra Pradesh - 190 (UR-88,OBC-57,SC-34,ST-03, PH-08)

Telangana - 127 (UR-65,OBC-30,SC-18,ST-09, PH-05)

Total vacancies - 1930

The last date for submission of application form for Odisha, Jharkhand, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh circles is December 19, 2017, whereas candidates applying for Maharashtra circle, last date to apply online is December 30, 2017.
