New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended their greetings to countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Holi.

President Ram Nath Kovind greeted the country on the auspicious occasion.“Greetings to all fellow citizens on Holi. The festival of colours, Holi, is a festival of social harmony which brings about joy, delight and hope in the lives of people. May this festival further strengthen the spirit of nationalism which is integral to our cultural diversity,” tweeted President Kovind.

PM Modi also extend his greetings on Holi and wished that this festival of joy and celebration infuses new energy and enthusiasm in everyone's life.

“Wishing you all a very happy Holi. This festival of joy, happiness, laughter and glee should infuse new vigour and new energy into everyone’s life,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted in Hindi.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also extended his “warm greetings and good wishes to the people”.

"My heartiest greetings to all the citizens of our country on the auspicious occasion of Holi today. The festival of colours, Holi, is celebrated with great fervour and zeal across the country. #Holi #FestivalOfColours," tweeted Naidu.

He also urged the citizens to take all precautions and maintain COVID-19 protocols while celebrating Holi.

"In view of the prevailing pandemic, I would like to urge people to take all precautions & maintain COVID-19 protocols while celebrating Holi. May this festival bring happiness, good health and prosperity in our lives. #Holi #FestivalOfColours," tweeted the Vice President.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also took to Twitter to greet the country on the auspicious occasion of Holi.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik shared a video message to greet people on the occasion of Holi and urged the people to remain at home and celebrate the festival of colours. Patnaik also begged the citizens to strictly follow the COVID guidelines to contain the spread of the virus.

BJP Vice President Baijayanta Jay Panda also extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Holi.

"Wishing a very happy & colorful #Holi to your loved ones and you. May the festival of colours bring you good health, happiness & prosperity. Jai Shree Krishna" tweeted Panda.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended wishes on Holi. “Happy Holi to all of you for the festival of colors of all colors of our country!” He also asked the people to stay safe and follow the Corona guidelines.
