Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The centre on Wednesday informed that it will soon allow vaccination sessions to be organised at workplaces (public and private offices) to ramp up the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the country.

As per sources, vaccination sessions can be organised at workplaces (public & pvt) having about 100 eligible & willing beneficiaries by tagging these workplaces with existing an COVID vaccination centre. Such work place vaccination centres may be launched across states/UTs from 11th April 2021.

The decision is being aimed towards increasing access of vaccines to these populations (45 yrs & above) COVID19.

The development comes as the new Corona cases hit a record daily high of over 1.15 lakh positives detected across the country in the space of 24 hours.

India’s total active caseload reached 8,43,473 today comprising 6.59% of the total positive cases. The daily positivity graph is on a steady incline and currently stands at 8.40%. But the Case Fatality Rate is on a continuous decline and currently stands at 1.30%, the Health Ministry data stated.

Meanwhile, India’s Cumulative Vaccination Coverage exceeds 8.7 Crores and currently stands at 8,70,77,474 to be exact. While 630 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, 8 states accounted for 84.44% of the new deaths.
