Amid the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, domestic flight services is all set to begin in the country from Monday, informed Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

"Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th, May 2020. All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May," tweets Puri.

SOPs for passenger movement are also being separately issued by the ministry, he said.

The Centre is reportedly looking at the option of making the Aarogya Setu app mandatory for flyers to have it installed on their mobile phones while taking flight.

“If the proposal is approved in the Aviation ministry, passengers who do not have the app on their phone would not be allowed to board their flight,” PTI quoted an official as saying.

Flight services were stopped in March following nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.
