Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who had tested positive for Covid-19 on December 18, was shifted to the Government Doon Medical College in Dehradun after developing fever, an official statement released by the Chief Minister's Office said on Monday.

As he had developed mild fever, he was taken for a check-up on Sunday evening to the GDMC where doctors decided to admit him, said the CMO.

Rawat is under the observation of a team of doctors, the official said.

The chief minister was in home quarantine after he tested positive for Covid-19 on December 18. His wife and daughter had also tested positive.

Earlier in September, the CM had isolated himself during the Covid-19 epidemic. Rawat had isolated himself after his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) had tested positive for Covid-19.

However, he had tested negative for coronavirus, but as a precautionary measure, he had decided to isolate himself.

Prior to that on August 26, the chief minister had gone into self-isolation after three of his staffers tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
