Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways on Thursday warned train passengers to remain alert as cyber fraudsters are targeting people on the pretext of online ticket refunds.

In a tweet, the Indian Railways advised its customers, rail users and passengers not to disclose their banking information or any personal details to anybody.

The Railways has asked passengers not to respond to calls and share personal information. The move comes in the backdrop of reports of frauds on the pretext of ticket refunds.

The Indian Railways clarified that the money of passengers will automatically return upon any cancellation.

“Indian Railway or IRCTC never call and ask for personal banking information such as debit/credit card number, OTP, PIN, CVV and PAN card details to transfer your refund amount,” tweeted Indian Railways.
