New Delhi: The Narendra Modi-led Government is very likely to come up with the most-awaited announcement in this month for Central government employees with regard to minimum pay hike under 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations. Reports are there that the salary of as many as 50 lakh employees will be hiked very soon.
If media reports are anything to go by, the Centre is keen on fulfilling some of the demands during this Cabinet meeting. Let's have a look at who all are likely to avail the benefits.
Sources claimed that the non-gazetted medical officers working with the Indian Railways will probably see a hike in salary, ranging from Rs 5000 up to Rs 21000. The non-gazetted medical staff are also expected to get a promotion.
Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary, All India Railway Mines Federation had reportedly stated that all these employees have been demanding a promotion for years, and the demand was looked upon and been already approved.
Apart from these benefits, it is also being claimed that the House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA) and Travel Allowance (TA) of these non-gazetted staff would also be increased.
It is pertinent to mention that the central government employees have been demanding to hike minimum pay to Rs 26000, which means a hike of Rs 8000. The CG employees are demanding a raise in the fitment factor to 3.68 (which is currently 2.57 times). Latest reports suggest that an official announcement will soon be made by the Finance Ministry if Union Cabinet approves any of the demands linked with CG employees.
