Amid the wait for the Dearness Allowance (DA), the centre has now come up with a special allowance under the 7th Pay Commission ahead of Holi for the central government employees.

The central government employees can now get an advance of Rs 10,000 under a Special Festival Allowance Scheme ahead of Holi- the festival of colours.

The CG employees can take the advance of Rs 10,000 without any interest. Meanwhile, the last date to avail of the advance cash benefit under the scheme is March 31, 2021.

The employees will reportedly get the advance in the form of prepaid RuPay card.

However, this advance will only be given once a year. That means, if a central government employee has not availed of this benefit earlier, he/she can avail of this scheme in the Holi festival

Those uninformed, this advance loan is availed by the CG employees once a year. Hence, those yet to avail the same can get the benefit.

It is worth mentioning that there was a festive advance of Rs 4,500 under the 6th Pay Commission, but it was not there when the 7th Pay Commission was introduced.

According to Zee Business, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had earlier said that the advance that is being given for festivals will be preloaded.
