An elderly British man suffering progressive loss of hearing accidentally discovered a piece of an earbud stuck inside his sense organ after nearly five years.

According to a report, Wallace Lee, from Dorset, a former Naval techie had been complaining of hearing loss for quite some time. Initially, he attributed his developing deafness to problems due to his career in the noisy aviation industry or some sports injury.

However, the 66-year-old was surprised to discover that a small object had stuck inside his ear canal after detecting it through an endoscopic kit.

Lee felt instant relief from his long-hearing problems and could hear everything normally as soon as the blockage which he said was a piece of an earbud was removed by doctors.

The Royal Naval officer said that he supposed the object had got stuck inside his ear during a plane journey probably five years ago and had been there ever since.

"Five years ago, when I was visiting my family in Australia, I bought these little earplugs that you can put different attachments in, depending on the noise you want to phase out on an aircraft. One of these little attachments had lodged in there and it had been in there ever since," the man was quoted as saying by BBC.
