Karnataka Assembly Election Result Live Updates: Congress wins 130 seats, counting continues

Voting for the Karnataka assembly elections ended on the evening of May 10, 2023. The fate of incumbent BJP, the opposition Congress, and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda’s JD(S), hang in balance as the counting gets underway.

The election saw a voter turnout of 65.69% with a total of 3,49,88,756 voters casting their votes. The state has a total of 224 constituencies, and the party that manages to secure a simple majority of 112 seats will be declared the winner.

3 candidates in Karnataka win by margin of less than 300 votes

The Congress is also set to return to power in Karnataka with a historic mandate on Saturday, but some of its candidates won by small margins of less than 300 votes, including former state unit chief Dinesh Gundu Rao.

The Congress is all set to win 136 seats in the southern state where the polling for the 224 member Assembly took place on May 10, whereas the BJP is set to win on 65 seats and the JD-S 19. The remaining four were won by two small parties (one each) and two Independents.

As per the latest Election Commission of India data, the Congress party has won 130 seats and leading in 6 seats in the Karnataka Assembly Elections. The BJP has won 60 seats and leading in 5 seats. The JDS has won 19 seats.

As per the latest Election Commission of India data, the Congress party has won 119 seats and leading in 17 seats in the Karnataka Assembly Elections. The BJP has won 55 seats and leading in 9 seats. The JDS has won 18 and leading in 2 more seats.
