The High Court of Madras has invited applications to fill up vacancies for Law Clerk post. Candidates with a Graduate in Law from the recognized Universities in the Indian Union and recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to apply for the 68 vacant posts at the HC.

Selected candidates will be posted either in the Principal Seat at Madras or at Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, Madurai. The Law Clerks will assist Judges in the Judicial and administrative work.

As per the notification, candidates should be below 30 years as on years as on 01.07.2019.

The filled in application form should be sent through e-mail at estt.madrashighcourt@gmail.com on or before 22.04.2019. Candidates should also submit their application through post on or before 25.04.2019. If any candidate fail to follow any method the application will be rejected.

Pay structure:
The Law Clerk will get a consolidated amount of Rs 30,000 per month. The appointment will be made on an adhoc basis following a viva voce test at Chennai.

Initially they will be recruited for a period of one year and the contract may be extended for another year, subject to the approval of the Chief Justice or the Committee nominated by the Chief Justice.

Before filling up the application form the candidates should go through the guidelines for the appointment.

Law Clerks shall be entitled for one day Casual Leave (CL) on completion of one calendar month. The unavailed CL in a particular month may be carried forward, subject to maximum eligibility of 12 days in a calendar year.
