New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the time table for the Civil Services (Main) Examination that is scheduled to be held in the month of January next year.
As per a notification issued by the Commission, the Civil Services Mains Exam will be held in two sessions – Forenoon Session and the Afternoon Session- from January 8 to January 17, 2021 during weekends.
On the 8th of January (Friday), there will only one session. Candidates will appear for the Paper-I Essay in Forenoon Session from 9 AM to 12 noon.
On the 9th of January (Saturday), Paper-II General Studies-I is scheduled in the Forenoon Session and Paper-III General Studies-II is scheduled in the afternoon session from 2 PM to 5 PM.
General Studies-III and General Studies-IV is scheduled on January 10 (Sunday) in the forenoon and afternoon session, respectively.
In the next weekend on January 16, exam for Paper-A Indian Language will be held in the forenoon session. This comprises Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Dogri/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Kashmiri/ Konkani/ Maithilli/ Malayalam/ Manipuri/ Marathi/ Nepali/ Odia/ Punjabi/ Sanskrit/ Santhali (Devanagari/Olchiki Script)/ Sindhi (Devanagari/Arabic Script)/ Tamil/Telugu/Urdu.
The afternoon session is for Paper-B English.
On the 17th of January, the Commission has scheduled Paper‐VI Optional Paper‐I in the forenoon session. This paper comprises Agriculture/ Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science/ Anthropology/ Botany/ Chemistry/ Civil Engineering/ Commerce & Accountancy/ Economics/ Electrical Engineering/Geography/ Geology/ History/ Law/ Management/ Mathematics/ Mechanical Engineering/ Medical Science/ Philosophy/ Physics/ Political Science & International Relations/ Psychology/ Public Administration/ Sociology/ Statistics/ Zoology/ Literature of any one of the following languages: Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Dogri/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Kashmiri/ Konkani/ Maithilli/ Malayalam/ Manipuri/ Marathi/ Nepali/ Odia/ Punjabi/ Sanskrit/ Santhali/ Sindhi/ Tamil/ Telugu/ Urdu/ English.
Exam for Paper‐VII Optional Paper‐II will be conducted in the afternoon session. The Optional Paper-II includes Agriculture/ Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science/ Anthropology/ Botany/ Chemistry/ Civil Engineering/ Commerce & Accountancy/ Economics/ Electrical Engineering/ Geography/ Geology/ History/ Law/ Management/ Mathematics/ Mechanical Engineering/ Medical Science/ Philosophy/ Physics/ Political Science & International Relations/ Psychology/ Public Administration/ Sociology/ Statistics/ Zoology/ Literature of any one of the following languages: Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Dogri/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Kashmiri/ Konkani/ Maithilli/ Malayalam/ Manipuri/ Marathi/ Nepali/ Odia/ Punjabi/ Sanskrit/ Santhali/ Sindhi/ Tamil/ Telugu/ Urdu/ English.
