Bhubaneswar: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the schedule and dates for examinations/recruitment tests (RTS) for the year 2020.

According to the calendar released by the UPSC, the civil services preliminary examination will be conducted on May 31, 2020 and mains will be held on September 18, 2020.

Similarly, the Indian Forest Service (IFS) preliminary examination will be held on May 31, 2020 and mains on November 22, 2020.

Candidates can check the official website of UPSC-upsc.gov.in to check the details and dates of other examinations.

It may be noted that the UPSC conducted the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2019 on June 2 at various centres across the country. Meanwhile, the candidates who the appeared exam termed the preliminary exam as relatively tougher than last year question paper.

The experts on various subjects of Civil Services Exam (CSE) too, also rated the paper as difficult saying that many questions were unexpected.

“This year, the paper was quite unexpected and was the toughest in the last five years. Every section was difficult apart from the Polity. The questions on History were beyond expectations, apart from Economics and a portion of General Studies made students nervous,” said Ramendra Barman, a CSE mentor as quoted by ‘The Indian Express’.
