UPSC Recruitment 2019: Major Notification for Multiple Posts Released

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a recruitment notification for the positions of Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2019.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the positions before the deadline. The last date to apply for the positions is April 16, 2019.

Age Limit (As on August 1, 2019)

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years i.e he/she must not have born earlier than August 2, 1989 and not later than August 1, 1998.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

(a) A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

(b) A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.

Physical Standards

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standard for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2019 as per Regulations given of the rules for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2019 published in Gazette of India dated 20th March, 2019.
