UPSC Recruitment 2019: Fresh Vacancies Under 7th Pay Commission, Apply Now

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a recruitment notification to fill up Assistant Director (Entomology) posts under the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Faridabad, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

Closing date for submission of online recruitment application (ORA) through ORA website is 11.59 PM on June 27, 2019. The last date for printing of completely submitted online application is upto 11.59 PM on June 28, 2019. Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed closing date for submission of online recruitment application (ORA).

Total Vacancies: 5 (SC-01, OBC-01, UR-03). The posts are permanent.

Pay Scale: Level 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Age Limit: Applicants' age should not exceed 35 years.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

(A) EDUCATIONAL: M.Sc. Degree in Entomology or Nematology or M.Sc. Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Entomology or Nematology or M.Sc. Degree in Zoology with specialization in Entomology or Nematology from a recognized University or Institution. (B) EXPERIENCE: Three years’ practical experience in the work relating to Entomology or Nematology.

NOTE- I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

NOTE- II: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of Selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

DESIRABLE: Doctorate Degree in Entomology or Nematology from a recognized University or Institution.

DUTIES: (i) To supervise and co-ordinate technical and administrative work. (ii) Supervise collection, collation and dissemination of information on Plant Protection. (iii) Mass multiplication of host insects, parasites and predators for bio-control of crop pests, diseases and weeds.

HQ: Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Faridabad.
