The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for recruitment by selection to various posts of General Central Service, Group `A’ category. The position will be Assistant Legal Adviser, Enforcement Directorate, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. The posts are permanent with a pay Scale in Level-11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th Central Pay Commission. Age: Applicants' age should not exceed 40 years.
Educational Qualification:
(i) Degree in law from a recognized University or equivalent
Note: Equivalent degree is LLB OR Master’s Degree in law from a recognized University or equivalent; Equivalent degree is LLM.
Experience:
(i) For LLB degree Holders: Three years experience at bar dealing with criminal laws or fiscal laws.
(ii) For LLM degree Holders: One year experience at bar dealing with criminal laws or fiscal laws.
NOTE- I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
NOTE- II: The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
DUTIES:
(i) To give advice on all matters referred by the various Ministries/Departments of the Government of India.
(ii) To Look after Government litigation work.
(iii) To appear in courts on behalf of the Central Government, wherever required
(iv)To perform administrative and other works as may be assigned. HQ: Directorate of Enforcement, New Delhi.
The posts are suitable for Physically Challenged Persons viz. Blindness or Low Vision Cat.-(a) / Locomotor Disability /Cerebral Palsy /Leprosy Cured/Dwarfism/ Acid Attack Victims /Muscular Dystrophy Cat.-(c) with disability i.e. Blind (B) or Low Vision (LV) or Both Legs affected but not Arms (BL) or One Leg affected (R or L) (OL) or One Arm affected (R or L) (OA) or One Leg and
One Arm Affected (OLA) or Leprosy Cured (LC) or Dwarfism (DW) or Acid Attack Victims (AAV).
