SSC recruitment
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification of Sub-Inspector recruitment for 2,861 posts. The recruitment process aims to fill Sub-Inspector (GD) vacancies in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The online application process will continue till October 16, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website, ssc.gov.in.
As per the notification, the last date and time for online fee payment is October 17, 2025. Candidates will be able to make corrections to their applications and pay correction charges from October 24 to October 26, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
For educational qualification, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent. Those who have appeared in their final year examination may also apply, provided they possess the essential qualification by the closing date of application submission.
Age Limit
Candidates must be at least 20 years old and not more than 25 years old as on August 1, 2025. Applicants must have been born not earlier than August 2, 2000, and not later than August 1, 2005 to be eligible. The crucial date for age reckoning has been fixed as August 1, 2025, in accordance with DoP&T OM No. 14017/70/87-Estt.(RR) dated July 14, 1988.
Application Fee
The application fee is Rs 100 for all candidates, while women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment.
Examination Process
The selection process will include a Computer-Based Examination, followed by a Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Endurance Test (PET), Detailed Medical Examination (DME), and Document Verification. The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is likely to be held between November and December 2025.
Vacancy Details and Pay Scale
The Sub-Inspector (GD) post in CAPFs carries a pay scale of Level-6 (Rs 35,400 – Rs 1,12,400) and is classified as Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial.
