The Railway Recruitment Cell, Northern Railway (RRC NR), issued an official notification inviting online applications for 4,116 Act Apprentice posts.

Eligible candidates with Matriculation/10th Class qualification and an ITI certificate in the relevant trade may apply through the official website, rrcnr.org, from November 25, 2025, to December 24, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Matriculation/10th Class with a minimum of 50 per cent marks under the 10+2 examination system from a recognised board and must hold an ITI qualification in the relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT, recognised by the Government of India. Applicants awaiting their results are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

The minimum age required is 15 years and the maximum is 24 years as on December 24, 2025. Age relaxations include five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC, ten years for PwBD, and up to an additional ten years for Ex-Servicemen, as per rules. The age calculation date has been fixed as December 24, 2025.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 100 for General and OBC candidates. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are exempted from payment. Fees must be paid online through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

Applications will be accepted only through the online portal rrcnr.org until December 24, 2025.

Selection Process

The selection procedure includes the screening and scrutiny of applications followed by a merit-based process. The merit list will be prepared on the average percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with at least 50 per cent aggregate) and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo document verification and a medical fitness assessment as per prescribed standards.
