Its now or never opportunity for the lakhs of candidates awaiting a job in the railway sector. The Ministry of Railways has begun the process of recruitment to fill up as many as 1,30,000 vacancies for Level-I post, Paramedical Staff, Non-technical Popular Categories (NTPC), ministerial and other categories. While the advertisement for the same can be found in employment news paper Feb 23- March 1 edition, the Railway Recruitment Board is likely to release the complete notification in this regard on its official website soon, sources said.

Now more candidates can apply in Railways, education qualification for Level-1 posts is 10th Pass, ITI or its equivalent, tweeted Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

As per sources, the first phase of fresh recruitment of 1,31,328 posts shall be initiated in the month of February-March, 2019. As per reservation policy of the Government, around 19,715, 9,857 and 35,485 number of vacancies shall be reserved for SC, ST and OBC candidates respectively.

Further, as per 103rd Constitutional Amendment recently passed by the Parliament, 10% of these vacancies i.e. around 13,100 shall be filled in from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). This cycle shall be completed by April-May, 2020.

Application fees for General candidates will be Rs 500, however, they can avail a refund of Rs 400 only if they appear the Stage-I CBT exam.

On the other hand, the application fees for SC/ST, OBC, Ex-servicemen, transgender and other minorities will be Rs 250 and they will get a complete refund if they appear for the 1st stage CBT.
