RRB Recruitment 2019: The official notification for RRB NTPC Recruitment 2019 was released on February 28, 2019. While the online application process started on March 1, 2019, it concluded on March 31, 2019. Similarly, the tentative month for RRB NTPC 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) was between June and September this year.

However, the RRB is yet to announce the exam dates and release the admit cards. The officials of RRB say that though there is no confirmation regarding the admit card and dates, they are most likely to be released in October 2019, said sources.

Possible Reasons Behind The Delay

Huge Number Of Applications

The RRB has received 1,26,30,885 applications to fill 35,208 vacancies under NTPC for both graduates and non-graduates in various zonal railways and production units of the Indian Railways.

It may be noted that the Indian Railways provides the highest number of recruitment in the country and therefore the number of applications is always high.

As per reports, around 1.89 crore candidates applied for Group D examination last year, the highest number of applications in the history of Indian Railways. The examination was conducted to fill 62,907 vacancies of Level-1 posts and the exam was held in 152 shifts.

The NDA Government has this year too, before the elections, announced 3 lakh vacancies in various categories of the Railways. Since 2018, around 5.09 crore applications were received by the Railways for a total of 2,83,331 vacancies across various categories.

As the number of application was high this year, the RRB is taking time to scrutinise it which might be one of the reasons behind the delay in the announcement of admit card and exam details.

However, a board official said that the board might take another one or two months to announce the complete RRB NTPC schedule, reported ‘The Indian Express’ in its recent article.

RRB Is Busy In Other Exams

Apart from taking time in scrutinising the applications, the RRB is busy in conducting junior engineer, ALP Technician and other recruitment examinations which has also delayed the process of RRB NTPC Examination.

As per reports, like the RRB NTPC Exam, huge number of application were received by the board for junior engineer examination. As many as 24,92,554 candidates applied of which 78,269 appeared for the computer-based exam stage I held between May and June.

The RRB JE 2nd stage exam began on August 28 and concluded on September 3. It may be noted that the RRB NTPC process would commence only after the ongoing recruitment process and examinations are completely over.

On the other hand, the Railway Recruitment Cell has also released the notification regarding its Group D Recruitment 2019. The exam as per the official website of the RRC was scheduled in September or October and it was also expected to be held before RRB NTPC. This means, the NTPC recruitment process will only take place in November or December after the RRC Group D Recruitment process is over.

Earlier, the RRB had said that the dates for the NTPC exam would be announced after the Paramedical Exam is over. Meanwhile, the results of the paramedical exam is expected to be released in the second week of September which means the update on the NTPC exam could be expected in a few days.

RRB NTPC Recruitment Process

The examination will be held in two stages– Computer-based tests and skill test. The candidates who will qualify these two stages will have to go through medical test. The selected candidates will be called for verification of their documents. Finally, the RRB will announce final results and grant jobs on the basis of merits.
