Bhubaneswar: In a big development, the Indian Navy will conduct a computer-based examination 'Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)' for recruitment of sailors.

As per an official announcement, the INET will be conducted in the month of September. The test will be conducted for the recruitment of matriculate recruit entry sailors in Indian Navy as Chefs, Stewards and Hygienists.

Aspiring candidates can register themselves on the official website- www.joinindiannavy.gov.in by creating their user accounts.

Once an account is created, candidates will get alerts about their online application once they register online and fill up other personal details.

 Important announcement:

Unmarried males born between  April 1, 2000 and  March 31, 2003 (both dates inclusive) will be eligible to apply.

Candidates need to have passed Class X.

After the tests, the short-listed candidates will have to attend the next phase of selection which will include physical fitness test and Preliminary Medical Examination.

Subsequently, a merit list will be published and successful candidates will be called for enrollment at the training establishment, INS Chilka in Odisha.

The enrollment in the Indian Navy shall be subject to candidates successfully passing in the Final Enrollment Medical Examination at INS Chilka.

Official sources informed that the training of the selected candidates will commence in April 2020.
