The Department of Post has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates for as many as 1940 posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks in Bihar circle.

Applications for the India Post Office recruitment can be submitted on or before May 26, 2021. Go through the details of the posts before applying for the same:

Educational Qualification

Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognised Board of School Education by the government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.

Compulsory Knowledge of Local Language

The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.

Age Limit: The minimum and maximum of age for the engagement to GDS posts is between 18 and 40 years respectively as on April 27, 2021 the date of notification of the vacancies.

The permissible relaxation in Upper age limit for different categories is: 5 years for Schedule Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST), 3 years for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 10 years for persons with disabilities (PwD), 13 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) + OBC and 15 years for persons with disabilities (PwD) + SC/ST.

Meanwhile, there is NO relaxation for the economically weaker sections (EWS) in the above mentioned India post office jobs.

Salary Details

Branch Postmaster: Rs 12,000- Rs 14,500

Assistant Branch Postmaster: ABPM/Dak Sevak: Rs 10,000- Rs 12,000
