The India Post has released a recruitment notification for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak positions in Odisha Postal Circle.

Candidates who want to apply for the Odisha Postal Circle vacancies are advised to visit the official website of India Post– https://indiapost.gov.in or https://appost.in/gdsonline.
Candidates are requested to apply on or before September 30, the official notification read.

India Post Office Recruitment 2020 Vacancy Details

As many as 2060 posts have been announced for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevaks in various divisions of Odisha Postal Circle. Those are- Aska, Berhampur, Kalahandi, Koraput, Phulbani, Rayagada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack City, Cuttack North, Cuttack South, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Rourkela, Sambalpur and Sundergarh.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must have Class 10th certificate with passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks. The Candidate passed Xth class examination in first attempt will be treated as meritorious against those passed compartmentally.
  • The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard (as compulsory or elective subjects).
  • The candidate must have a Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government/State Government /Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations.

Age Limit

The minimum and maximum of age for the purpose of engagement to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) posts shall be between 18 and 40 years respectively as on 01.09.2020, the date of notification of the vacancies.

Application Process

Only online application will be accepted by the candidate. A Candidate who desires to apply online will have to register himself/herself in the portal through https://indiapost.gov.in or https://appost.in/gdsonline with effect from 01.09.2020 to 30.09.2020.

Application Fee

Applicants of category OC/OBC/EWS Male / trans-man should pay a fee of Rs 100 for each set of five options. However, payment of fee is exempted for all Female / trans-woman candidates as well PwD candidates.
