New Delhi: The online application for over 2,500 vacancies for India Post Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment 2020 will close today i.e. December 11. The vacancies are meant for various posts of GDS which includes branch post master (BPM), assistant branch post master (ABPM) and dak sevak in Jharkhand, Punjab and North-East circles.

The registration, fee & submission of online application for the posts began on November 12, 2020.

Pay scale

The pay scale of the branch postmaster post is Rs 12,000 and for ABMP/Dak Sevak is Rs 10,000.

Educational Qualifications

  • The candidate must have Class 10th certificate with passing marks in Mathematics, local language and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks. The Candidate passed Xth class examination in first attempt will be treated as meritorious against those passed compartmentally.
  • The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard (as compulsory or elective subjects).
  • The candidate must have a Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government/State Government /Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations.

Age Limit

The minimum and maximum of age for the purpose of engagement to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) posts shall be between 18 and 40 years respectively.

Steps To Apply For India Post GDS Recruitment 2020

Stage 1: Initially candidate has to register in the Registration module once per cycle and obtain unique registration number.

Stage 2: UR/OBC/EWS Male/Trans-man need to make fee payment. In case of online payment, if no confirmation is received after the deduction of amount from candidate's bank account, candidates can await upto 72 Hours for settlement. Offline payments can be made at any Head Post Office.

Stage 3: Apply Online

Step 4: Fill the application form.

Step 5: Upload the necessary documents as asked by the India Post

Step 6: Submit Post preferences. Preview and take print out. Completion of these three steps will only be treated as submission of application.
