The alleged death sparked immediate outrage and violent clashes outside the prison as supporters gathered demanding proof or confirmation of Khan’s fate.

According to protesters and some circulating social-media posts, violence erupted when Police reportedly assaulted Khan’s family members, including his sisters, who had come to the jail seeking information.

The confrontation quickly escalated; thousands of supporters rallied outside Adiala Jail, calling for transparency and accountability, while allegations flew that security forces were trying to suppress the truth.

However, fact-checking by multiple media outlets has found no credible evidence to support the claim that Imran Khan died in custody. The viral “press release” claiming his death appears to be a fabrication, no official statement from the government, jail authorities, or his legal team has confirmed any such event.

Authorities and prison officials have repeatedly denied the rumours, and several recent jail-visits and health checks reportedly show that Khan remains alive and is being held under standard prison conditions.

Nonetheless, distrust among supporters and the tense political climate have turned uncertainty and speculation into unrest.

For now, the claims of “custodial killing” remain unverified, but the rumours have already ignited violent clashes and deepened public anxiety, underscoring the fragile atmosphere surrounding political detention and information in Pakistan today.
