Call Confirmed by US Envoy

The phone conversation was later confirmed by US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor. Taking to X, he wrote, “President Trump just spoke with Prime Minister Modi. STAY TUNED.” However, no details were shared regarding the substance or outcome of the discussion.

Trade Deal in Focus

The conversation has drawn attention as it comes amid expectations of progress on the India–US trade agreement. Earlier last month, while speaking to the media at the World Economic Forum, Trump had expressed optimism about reaching a strong trade deal with India.

Praise for Prime Minister Modi

During his interaction at the forum, Trump also praised Prime Minister Modi, describing him as a “fantastic man” and a friend. Emphasising his confidence, Trump said he had great respect for the Indian Prime Minister and assured that the two countries would arrive at a favourable agreement.

The exchange and the magazine cover post underscore the ongoing engagement between the two leaders, keeping focus firmly on the evolving India–US partnership and the proposed trade deal.
