Having natural straight black hair is a blessing. But what if you do not have that gorgeous straight hair? You can enjoy the same look by choosing a permanent hair straightening process. But once you get your hair straightened it is important to take good care of them so that you do not end up losing hair. Here are certain tips you must follow:

1. Avoid Straightening Irons and Hair Dryers

A lot of chemicals are infused with hair to straighten them. So you must ensure that they are not exposed to straightening irons or hair dryers or for that matter any hair styling equipment that exudes heat. In case you have no other option but to use a blow dryer, opt for the cold setting to minimize the damage as much as possible.
Make sure that you avoid showering with hot water. Instead, use lukewarm water so that the moisture level in the hair strands is least affected.

2. Less Shampoo, More Conditioner

Many hair experts recommend cutting down on the use of shampoo. Instead of shampooing hair every day or alternate day doing it just twice a week is good enough. But you must use conditioner daily so give a sheen and shine to that straight looking hair. For keeping the lustre alive a massage of hot oil is also recommended.

3. Protect Hair From Pollution & Sun

Overexposure to sun and pollution can damage even normal hair. So when you straighten the hair you need to be extra careful of protecting them from pollution and sun. The harsh rays of the sun and the dust in the air can damage your chemically treated hair. Invest in a fashionable umbrella, a fancy sun hat or a stylish scarf for protecting your straight hair.

4. Cut Your Hair Frequently

The chemicals used during the straightening process are very harsh and hence lead to split ends more often. That is why hair experts advise trimming the hair once every month or six weeks.
