Nothing can be easier than sheding those extra kilos while eating… Want to shed extra stubborn kilos? Then, you must add salads to your diet to smash those unwanted fats.

Salads are not only low in calories, but also quite rich in fibre contents. You can include various types of vegies varrying from carrots, cucumber, celery, cauliflower, chilli, Green leaves and others in your salad.

Here are five types of salads that you can include in your breakfast, lunch as well as dinner to burn calories.

Greek Salad

Ingredients

1 head romaine lettuce, chopped into bite-sized pieces
1 red onion, thinly sliced
6 black olives
1 green bell pepper; trimmed and diced into small pieces
1 red bell pepper, trimmed and diced into small pieces
2 large tomatos chopped cut into small pieces
1 cucumber, trimmed and sliced sliced into 1 inch chunks
6 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Freshly squeezed juice from 1 lemon
Groud black pepper to taste

Preparation- Mix all the ingrediants in a small bowl and toss well. Whisk together the lemon juice, salt, and oil. Let the salad to set for some time and then serve.

Arugula Salad

Ingredients

4 cups young arugula leaves, rinsed in water and dried
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved in two pieces
1/4 cup pine nuts
2 tablespoons extra-virgn olive oil
1 tablespoons rice vinegar
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste

Preparation- In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, rice vinegar, salt and pepper. Lightly toss the dressing with the arugula, tomatoes and ground black pepper. At last add salt to taste and serve.

Mix Sprouts Salad

Ingredients

3/4 cup boiled mixed sprouts (kabuli chana, moong , rajma, matki)
2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
1/4 cup grated radish
1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped fenugreek leaves
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon edible oil
1 finely chopped green chilli
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)

Preparation- Mix the sprouts, radishes, tomatoes, coriander and fenugreek leaves and chillies. Add oil and salt to taste.

Sprouts and Veggie Salad with Curd Dressing

Ingredients

1/2 cup boiled mixed sprouts (moong, matki, chana)
1 cup red and yellow capsicum finely diced in small pieces
1 cup iceberg lettuce torn into small pieces
1 tablespoon chopped spring onion
Salt to taste

For the low-fat curd dressing

1/2 cup low-fat curd
1/2 tsp lemon juice
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

Preparation- Mix all the salad ingredients in a large bowl and toss well. Whisk yogurt dressing ingredients in a bowl until smooth and. Taste and adjust seasoning. Mix the salad ingredients and whisk curd in a bowl and serve.

Cabbage, Carrot and Lettuce Salad

Ingredients

1 cup shredded cabbage
1 cup coarsely grated carrot
1/2 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup orange segments
1/4 cup chopped coriander
1/2 tsp black salt
Salt to taste

Preparation- Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl and toss well. Serve immediately.
