Maa Siddhidatri is depicted seated on a lotus or a lion, radiating serenity and divine grace. She has four arms, holding a lotus, a mace, a conch, and a discus. Her calm expression symbolises boundless compassion, while her divine aura reflects perfection and completeness. Scriptures describe her as the one who bestows eight siddhis, Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishita, and Vashitva, along with several other mystical powers.

Mythological Significance

According to sacred texts, it was through Maa Siddhidatri’s blessings that Lord Shiva attained the Ardhanarishwar form, embodying both masculine and feminine energies. This aspect highlights her role as the embodiment of completeness and balance in creation. Worshipping her is said to remove ignorance and lead devotees towards the highest form of wisdom and devotion.

Devotional Importance

On this day during Durga Puja, devotees observe fasting, perform rituals, and chant hymns dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri. Spiritual aspirants especially revere her for granting divine knowledge and yogic perfections, while householders seek her blessings for peace, prosperity, and harmony.
