A Routine Ride That Turned Frightening

Ruhanika revealed that the incident occurred while she was returning home from college on a route she is very familiar with. What began as an ordinary journey soon took an unsettling turn when she noticed the cab driver repeatedly taking unnecessary detours. Despite the GPS clearly showing the correct route, the driver allegedly ignored her instructions and continued to drive in the wrong direction.

As the ride went on, Ruhanika’s discomfort turned into fear. She claimed that even after asking the driver to stop the car, he failed to do so immediately. The situation escalated further when the driver reportedly began using foul and abusive language, leaving her feeling extremely unsafe.

Choosing Safety Over Silence

Feeling vulnerable and helpless, Ruhanika said she finally raised her voice, after which the driver stopped the vehicle. She immediately got out of the cab and chose to complete the remainder of her journey by metro. Reflecting on the incident, she spoke about the emotional distress it caused and how such experiences can deeply affect women who depend on ride-hailing services for daily travel.

A Message Beyond One Incident

Ruhanika highlighted that incidents like these raise important questions about safety, accountability, and trust in public transport systems. As a student and a young woman, the experience left a lasting impact on her sense of security.

Despite the ordeal, Ruhanika recently celebrated a positive milestone. On June 21, 2025, she graduated with honors, marking the special day with her family—an achievement that stood in contrast to the troubling experience she bravely chose to share.
