Bhubaneswar: Popular Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty was conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award at the 6th Tarang Cine Awards in a star-studded ceremony held at JN Indoor stadium in Cuttack recently.

Mohanty, a household name in Odisha, ruled the industry during his heydays, and this award is for his immense contribution to Odia cinema.

The awards function, graced by OTV co-founder and director Jagi Mangat Panda among a host of dignitaries, will be telecast on March 22, Sunday, from 7 pm onwards only on Tarang TV.

The annual award function, which is gaining popularity over the years due to its uniqueness and high voltage entertainment package, this time saw the who’s who of Ollywood cheering for the winners and performers.

The starry night made the packed audience nostalgic and tearful when late Odia actor-director Hara Pattnaik’s wife Jharana came on the stage with her daughter to receive a special award dedicated for the ‘Ringmaster’ (read Hara) for his contribution to the Odia film industry.

The event was also a sweet surprise for many, as Bollywood diva Prachi Desai of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai-fame came, grooved to some of the Bolly chartbusters and won many hearts that night.

Apart from this, the most awaited event witnessed a string of breathtaking performances of Ollywood stars like Arindam Roy, Sabyasachi Mishra, Buddhaditya Mohanty and Pappu Pompom.

And, among the leading ladies of Ollywood, Anu Choudhury, Archita and Elina also set the stage on fire with their scintillating performances. The night was anchored by Ollywood heartthrob Buddhaditya Mohanty, talented Manoj Mishra and beautiful Priya.
