A Birthday Surprise for Ranbir

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Bhansali has officially locked Ranbir for the ambitious project, which is expected to go on floors next year. Pre-production is already underway. Known for his love of retro melodies, Ranbir is said to start his mornings with tunes from the 1950s, including classics from the 1952 Baiju Bawra. Sources reveal he’s even introducing his daughter, Raha, to these timeless gems.

The Journey from Ranveer to Ranbir

Initially, the role was envisioned for Ranveer Singh, who had begun preparing before Bhansali turned his attention to Love & War, a film that also stars Ranbir. Over the years, speculations around the casting of Baiju Bawra have swirled, pairing names like Ranveer and Alia Bhatt, but nothing was ever finalized.

Bhansali has reportedly nurtured this dream project for over two decades, making the eventual casting all the more momentous.
