The Kapil Sharma Show's Sunil Grover is returning to the small screen soon but not on the famous comedy show on Sony Television. He will be next seen in a comedy web thriller directed by Vikas Bahl. Titled Sunflower, it will also include big names from the entertainment world like Ranvir Shorey and Ashish Vidyarthi and marks the digital debut of Bahl.

Shonali Nagrani who earlier shared the screen space with Sunil Grover in Tandav will also feature in Sunflower.

The team has already completed shooting for this web series. Recently the Bharat actor shared a wrap-up clip from the sets of Sunflower in which he also announced that the series will start streaming in April on ZEE5 . Sunil captioned, "It’s a wrap for ‘sunflower’! Yeh April main khilega."

 

In a follow-up post, he shared a group video with all his teammates who are all wearing yellow dresses to emphasize the color of Sunflower. The actors are asking, "Sunflower kya hai? Yeh Manjan nahi manoranjan hai."

According to reports, the story of this upcoming web series is set in a middle-class housing society in Mumbai called Sunflower.  The assistant director of  the series, Rahul Sengupta said, "This is a plot as well as a character-driven show, and hence it was important to have the right people to represent the conservative yet quirky society members who call Sunflower home."

Even the host of The Kapil Sharma Show has been shooting in Manali for his upcoming web series for the last few months. While the release date of Kapil's web series is not yet out if it clashes with Sunflower, it is sure to create an interesting competition on OTT.
