The Kapil Sharma Show fame Sumona Chakravarti has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. The actress has recently moved out from her parents house to her Scandinavian-inspired home. While Sumona still lives in the same building complex as her parents, she has finally build her dream space, which she moved into just a couple of months ago.

Reportedly, she had bought the house a few years ago, however it was only in September 2020 when she decided to live alone and hired architects to ‘break the house down, and make it a home’ for her.

Sumona in a recent video on Beautiful Homes shared her feelings: “For the longest time I have been wanting to do this. I wanted to experience what it is like to run my own house. This is the first time I am living by myself, a bit late in life.”

“I like my me time, my solitude. I can't do with a lot of people. I knew I wanted to build something exactly to my liking. This is a small house, and I didn’t want too many walls,” added the actress.

“This is my first home, and I love it,” said Sumona at the end of the video.

"The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actress was clear about the way she wanted her house, she wanted a simple Scandinavian aesthetic to her house with big French window, kitchen, sliding glass doors," said Hufeza Rangwala, director of Mumbai-based design studio, MuseLAB, who designed the house.

Rangwala said that it was challenging to design the space as it is one of most compact home they have designed.

Sumona shared how this society complex is close to her heart as it has witnessed her struggles and success. She also revealed how property brokers used to bring potential tenants to her society and convince them by saying “it’s the same place where The Kapil Sharma Show actor Sumona lives.”

Thanking her mother for pushing her to be independent to stand on her own feet, Sumona wrote on Instagram, “I have never felt more settled in life. N that comes with a certain sense of security knowing u have a roof over your head, food on the plate, n clothes to wear. There’s only 1 person responsible for pushing me to be independent/ to stand on my own feet. Thank u Maa. This is a life lesson that will never be taught in any school or college.”
