The versatile and talented Manoj Bajpayee celebrated his birthday on Friday and wishes kept pouring in for him from different parts of the globe. Interestingly on the special occasion of Manoj aka Srikant’s birthday, some fans also took to social media to ask him if there is any update on the new season of The Family Man series. Much to the delight of the fans, recently Manoj gave audiences a pleasant surprise by letting out a crucial hint about the show.
Directed by Raj and DK, The Family Man season 2 is one of the most awaited shows of the year. The show was apparently going to hit the digital screens earlier this year however owing to various controversies surrounding Amazon Prime shows like Tandav and Mirzapur, the release dates were pushed a number of times. The latest buzz surrounding the show was that the series has got a green signal and will be dropping on the OTT platform this May. While there has been no official announcement about the same, Manoj Bajpayee hinted in the same direction confirming the buzz.

Talking to a news portal Bajpayee, who plays NIA Srikant in the series, revealed that the wait is going to come to an end soon. He said, “We’re going to get a release date from Amazon very soon.” When asked if they have wrapped up the shooting of the show, he added that they had concluded the shoot long back and there’s nothing left to shoot now. The crew and cast have finished shooting the sequel of The Family Man last year itself but due to the lockdown, the post-production had slowed down.

Earlier, directors Raj and DK had also confirmed that the show will be hitting the screens in the summer. If the show, as reported, is dropping in May then the countdown for fans has already begun to see Manoj Bajpayee back in action as NIA Agent Srikant Tiwari. Meanwhile, South star Samantha Akkineni will be making her OTT debut as Srikant’s nemesis, Raji.
