Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah is one of the longest running television shows that has been entertaining the audience for over a decade now. The show is known for its unique storytelling and the quirky characters which make the show standout from others.
Not only the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s every character is extremely popular across the country. Be it Champaklal, Jehthalal, Popatlal, Bhide or Tappu sena, every character is popular among the fans.
However, one of the most loved characters of the show is Dayaben. Even though, Dayaben's character in the show has been missing for the last few years still the popularity of Dayaben played Disha Vakani has not decreased a bit.
Rather, fans of the show are still eagerly waiting for Disha's comeback to the show. However, it seems that Disha Vakhani and Dayaben's characters might not return to the small screen again and some of the latest report suggest that Disha has finally said goodbye to the show which recently completed 5000 episodes.
Entertainment portal Koimoi quoted a source as saying, “After the maternity break, there definitely had been talks regarding the perfect plot to return. Producers had been in touch with Disha and there were some on-going negotiations that were being worked upon. But unfortunately, things did not materialise and Disha decided to quit.”
The source also added, “It’s has been long known to the director and producers that Disha Vakani is not returning to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. The reason behind them not announcing it officially remains a confusion even to many of us.”
Though Disha Vakhani might not make a comeback, whether the makers will replace Disha or totally eliminate Dayaben's character is yet to be confirmed by the production company.
Meanwhile, there is some good news for the Dayaben fans as they can watch Daya’s character in the animated version of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on Sony Yay.
So, those who missed missed Daya’s crazy antics, her infectious laugh, and her way of speaking and playing garba on the show will now get to see the animated version of hers on the show.
