Sushant Singh Rajput Had Rs 18 Crore In His Bank Account, Claims Mumbai Police
Mumbai: In another development today, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh claimed that actor Sushant Singh Rajput had Rs 18 crore in his bank account of which around Rs 4.5 crore are still there. The Commissioner revealed this while addressing the media on the SSR death case.
Singh also said that till now they have not found any direct transfer to Rhea Chakraborty and they are still probing the financial transaction.
To a query on the name of a prominent Maharashtra political personality being bandied around on social media, Singh categorically said that investigations have not revealed any such thing.
The Mumbai Police Commissioner also refuted the charges of not cooperating with Bihar Police. He said that Mumbai Police is legally examining whether Bihar police have jurisdiction in Sushant’s case or not.
“Rhea Chakraborty was one of the 56 people questioned by the Mumbai police. Her statement was recorded twice and she was called to the police station several times. I can’t comment about her whereabouts,” said Singh.
He further stated that statements of 56 people have been recorded till now and all angles are being investigated – be it a professional rivalry, financial transactions or health-related issues.
Earlier today, IPS officer from Bihar Vinay Tiwari who is heading the probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case as instructed by DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, was quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials hours after he arrived in the city to expedite the investigation.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also voiced strong disapproval of the ‘forcible’ quarantine of the IPS officer after he landed in Mumbai to lead a Special Investigation Team probing Sushant’s death.
“Whatever has been done to him is inappropriate,” Kumar said when asked about Vinay Tiwari, SP City (East) Patna. He also said the matter has been taken up with the authorities in Maharashtra by DGP Gupteshwar Pandey.
