One of the biggest releases of last year, Sooryavanshi was pushed for a late release owing to the pandemic. Rohit Shetty didn’t want to go for n OTT release and was fixated on a theatrical release of the multistarrer big-budget project. And thanks to the makers, the Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn co starrer will be hitting theatres on April 2.

However, the cop drama will not be releasing in multiplexes according to some roadblocks and the film will only hit single screens which is surprising because the film holds a powerful star cast. “Since multiplexes are not agreeing to the terms put forth by Rohit Shetty, and Reliance, team Sooryavanshi has finally taken a decision to release the film in the cinema halls on April 2. However, the catch here is, he would bring the film only in the single screens and non-national multiplex chains, and bypass the big five national chains of PVR, INOX, Cinepolis, and Carnival.” said a source close to Pinkvilla.

The film will see all the cop heroes in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe come together – from Ajay Devgn as Singham to Ranveer Singh as Simmba, the audience’s favorite cops will reunite for action along with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.

Another film that will be witnessing a theatrical release before Sooyavanshi is Roohi Afzana starring Rajkumar Rao and Jhanvi Kapoor which was also delayed due to the pandemic. The love story will be dropping on the big screen in the first week of March.
