Shahid Kapoor’s status as a star in Bollywood has escalated very high post the massive success of “Kabir Singh” which was a remake of a super hit Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy.” Now the “Padmavat” actor is gearing up to star in the remake of yet another Telugu film “Jersey” which also did very well at the box-office.

Success does make a difference in the way you are paid in Bollywood. That is why Shahid Kapoor has also increased his fees and not surprisingly is being paid a hefty amount for this upcoming remake. According to reports, the “Jab We Met” actor has received a check of Rs. 35 crore for “Jersey” remake. And that is not all!

Super Excited Shahid To Receive Profit Share

Shahid Kapoor is but naturally super excited to be a part of this new movie that will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who was also the director of the original film. The “Jersey” remake will release on August 2020 and shooting for the flick is expected to start very soon.

Earlier the actor was in dilemma whether to be a part of another Telugu remake but finally has decided to sign on the dotted lines. And one of the main reasons for it can be the huge payment he has been promised and a share of 30% in the profit of the movie.

It is not new for an actor to demand a share in the film’s profit. Many big superstars in Bollywood including Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan demand such benefits. So, with this new contract, Shahid Kapoor seems to be slowly taking steps towards superstardom which has eluded him since he debuted more than a decade ago in the Hindi film industry.

According to an insider source, “Shahid is super excited to do this remake. He’s loved the original and quite enjoyed it. He will give the Hindi film his spin as he did with Arjun Reddy. The success of Kabir Singh proved that he can succeed with a remake. This is his second remake after Arjun Reddy.”
