Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor is riding high on the wave of his recent huge hit “Kabir Singh.” The movie for the first time gave him access to the elite class of Bollywood which until now seemed quite far for the “Kaminey” star despite being in the industry for more than 15 years. Finally, with his recent super hit, the ace actor has now been able to consolidate his position as the superstar of Bollywood.

Why Shahid Is Shying Away From Remake?

Kabir Singh was a remake of the Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy” and has given the name and fame to the actor which until now has been eluding him. Even then the “Padmavat” actor is reluctant to commit himself for another remake. According to reports, Shahid Kapoor has been offered the lead role in the remake of a Telugu movie “Jersey.” The rights of this flick have already been acquired by noted director and producer Karan Johar for his Dharma Productions.

The movie is based on cricket. Incidentally, Shahid has been thinking of working in a sports film since a long time. But even then Shahid has still not given a go-ahead to this project. Similarly, the “Koffee With Karan” anchor has also bought remake rights to Vijay Devarakonda’s “Dear Comrade” that released recently. The “ Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam” director wants Shahid on board for this movie.

But Shahid has still not given his approval.

Controversial Video Is The Reason?

A few weeks ago a video surfaced from the bash of Karan Johar showing famous Bollywood stars in a drugged state and Shahid was one of the celebrities at the party.  Even though there has been repeated denial from the stars, a recent statement by Shahid Kapoor indicates that the son of Pankaj Kapoor is not comfortable with the atmosphere within the inner circle.

That can be one of the reasons why he is reluctant to do a film that is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
