Hyderabad: After the Baahubali star Prabhas moved court challenging the seizure of his guesthouse, the Hyderabad High Court on Friday asked the Telangana government to file a counter affidavit to a petition of the Tollywood actor.

The Rebel star had filed a petition after the Serlingampally mandal revenue officials seized his guesthouse at Rai Durgam on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

While hearing the petition of Prabhas, the High Court ordered that the status quo be maintained at the site till further orders and asked the Telangana government to file a counter affidavit by December 24.

The next hearing on the matter will be on December 31.

Prabhas, in his petition, had said that the authorities entered his land and attempted to dispossess him without any notice. He had purchased the land in parts in 2005 and 2006 and had paid Rs 1.05 crore for regularisation, said Prabhas.

He further said that his application was pending with the revenue authorities but they had tried to demolish structures on the land.

The property of the Rebel star falls in Survey No: 46 and as per a recent ruling of the Supreme Court, the entire 84 acres extent of the land in the above survey number belongs to the government.

Following the SC's ruling, the concerned authorities had started taking possession of all the property falling under that survey number.
