Samantha Akkineni, Manoj Bajpayee At Loss Due To Tandav & Mirzapur Controversy

Amidst all the controversy surrounding Tandav and Mirzapur, Samantha Akkineni and Manoj Bajpayee are the ones who will be at a loss even if they are not part of the show. The duo’s much-anticipated web series The Family Man 2, which was all set to drop on February 12, has now been postponed owing to the controversies.

The audience is looking for Srikant to return with bated breaths but reportedly there has been a saddening development related to the show. The show has been postponed indefinitely, confirmed a source close to Bollywood Hungama. Even the trailer of the show, which was supposed to be dropped on January 18, has also been postponed.

The source said, “It is true. The Family Man Season 2 has been postponed indefinitely, much to the disappointment of Manoj Bajpayee and the co-director Raj-DK. The reason is, the brand Amazon has taken a beating in India with two of their most successful shows Mirzapur and  Tandav coming under the scanner for allegedly hurting popular sentiments. Amazon doesn’t feel the atmosphere is conducive to the release of a big franchise like The Family Man.”

While the content of The Family Man 2 is not controversial at all, the OTT platform is hesitant to release their ambitious project to play safe. “Who knows what triggers off an adverse reaction in the public? Amazon would rather wait for a more opportune time to release an important show like The Family Man.” shared the source to Bollywood Hungama.

Samantha Akkineni was all set to debut at the OTT platform and the Hindi industry with this show. However, this development has left her fans and the fans of the series dismayed.  The viewers can only hope to see Sam and Manoj as Srikant on screen soon.
