SS Rajamouli’s film RRR is one of the most awaited films of 2021. However, amid the surge in coronavirus cases in the country, it seems that the chances of the films’ release on October 13 is less likely.

The production of the magnum opus is yet to be completed, which makes it impossible for the makers to release the film during Dussehra as both the lead stars Ram Charan Teja and NTR Jr have a lot of scenes to shoot for RRR.

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, actor Ram Charan, who plays the role of Sitarama Raju, has not shot much this year since he was busy with his other project Acharya. NTR Jr, who essays Komaram Bheema’s character in the historical drama, also did not shoot this year.

Reportedly, the makers had planned to shoot the remaining schedule with both actors and wrap up the film by July 2021, so that they could have started the post-production work.

However, this now seems impossible with the current upsurge in covid cases.

Meanwhile, there are reports claiming that the historical drama may now be pushed to early next year. It is now speculated that RRR will hit the theatres on Makar Sankranti 2022. However, there is no official confirmation from the makers or the stars.

The report also mentions that the movie will not be released on OTT platforms since the visual effects of the movie is best suited for the big screen release.

The magnum opus also stars Alia Bhatt as Sita and Ajay Devgn as a leader of the masses who fights the colonial regime. Besides these two Bollywood stars, RRR will also feature London-based theatre artist Olivia Morris.

Fans are eagerly waiting for RRR to hit the silver screen so, that they can relive the cinematic experience that every Rajamouli’s film provides be it Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015 and Baahubali: The Conclusion in 2017 or Magadheera.
