Kannada star Rishab Shetty is gearing up for a powerful return with Kantara: A Legend- Chapter 1. As the release date draws near, the actor-filmmaker is in full promotional mode. Fans are already mesmerized by his striking transformation and the high-octane action sequences, eager to revisit the origins of the Kantara universe. Amid all the excitement, Rishab recently opened up about the rigorous preparations he undertook for his role.

No Non-Veg, No Footwear: Rishab Shares His On-set Routine

Speaking to the press in Kerala on Friday, Rishab Shetty revealed that he refrained from eating non-vegetarian food and avoided wearing footwear during certain sequences of the film. 

When asked if he had truly followed these practices throughout the shoot, he clarified, “Not for the whole film, only for some sequences. It’s not something I’ve done before, so I needed clarity of mind while doing it. I did not want to have any confusion. It’s a God I believe in, so I restricted myself during it.”

He added that he also kept the set minimal during these portions. He said, “Normally, when you shoot, there are thousands of people on set. But I did not shoot these portions like that; I’m very careful. I’ve taken great care because I am a believer. I don’t question anyone’s belief; I respect it. And I expect the same in return.” 

Debunking Kantara Viewing Myths

Recently, a fan-made post went viral, claiming that audiences should abstain from non-veg and follow certain rituals before watching Kantara: Chapter 1.

Addressing this at a Bengaluru press meet, Rishab firmly denied any involvement from him or the film’s team. “Nobody has the right to question one's eating or personal habits. These are left to individual mindsets and personal choice. Somebody uploaded a fake post, and it came to our notice. They’ve since deleted it and apologised,” he said.

Star-studded Prequel Hits Theatres Soon

Directed by Rishab himself, Kantara: Chapter 1 sees him reprise the lead role alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram, and other key actors. The prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara is set to hit theatres on October 2.
